Can not enter text in chat by pressing enter key

Hello run into a problem after a long time playing. seems that i can press enter key to bring up the text chat box and i can type in it however when i press enter to submit the text it just wont go through. I have to use number pad enter key to talk and its getting quite annoying. I've already tried to rebind the enter key to chat and have deleted the key config files and verified files in hopes it would work but it does not work. only started happening a day ago. anyone know a fix?
