Why not just remove hunger and thirst?

It serves to gameplay zero purpose only hurts nakeds/solo. Only they are capable of starving or death via thirst and need for food pushed them into stealing food from geared people which half the time leads to death.

Maybe you should get water from the sea and cook it or rivers that do not need cooking ! or get a lot of pumpkins ! .
but they should add more of cooking foods in rust say soups and so on soup is easy to make in games just add water to a beancan cook on fire or bbq ;p

it matters at start, but after achieving wealth you dont worry about it anymore

no how else will i be able to kill people with better weapons when they try to raid me when i get this game

my idea simple make them fall into the honeycombed pit of doom and seal it off and listen to them screaming let me out and cursing me while they starve to death or die of thirst or die by getting shot XD

Agreed you don't wake up on the beach and are like "Hey I feel hydrated and fed decent amounts of food lets go chop a whole forest down in 10 hours then get hungry!" should be the opposite way."I hate my life and want to die why was I put on this stranded island dehydrated from the beating down sun and being in the hot sand."

once you get a foot in, if you stave its because you where AFK crafting.

Spawn on beach naked should at least give you half hunger and hydration so you can quickly heal when you get a campfire and small base going. They could add a timer to suicides to prevent spawn spamming.
