Removing misplaced stone floor frame
I need to replace a mistakenly-placed empty stone floor frame with a floor. It's been upgraded to stone, and the timeout for for demolish has expired. I could fill it in with a ladder hatch but that's expensive and 2/3rds easier to blow through than a metal floor and thus leaving a large vulnerability in my base. I've tried picking the top, side, and bottom and there's no "soft side." I've gone through two metal picks and it's at 485/500! 10 satchel charges to remove it is out of the question.

Some suggestions to handle this situation:
-Allow the placer of the frame to place a thatch floor over it with a building plan.
-Allow the demolish option again (for a short period) after upgrading it to metal (I'd willing eat the cost of that upgrade to avoid this hassle).
-Make the inside of the frame the soft side and the inside of the floor frame is only pickable without a ladder hatch.

First suggestion seems fair. But again, if you made a door frame, you can't really make a wall there anymore, and it's the same principle. If only there would be an armored ladder hatch or something

Second suggestion is kinda dumb. Think about it, i raided your base but can't open the loot room. Good thing i can upgrade it with 150 metal and then demolish it instead of wasting 2k sulfur. No. That's not a good thing.
The frame is so small, i don't know how you manage to find 3 sides on it to hit, but a soft side being under the hatch block is a nice touch.

My only solution to your problem is put a hatch and make an airlock on under it.That's how i do it, 3 floors, all hatches separated and airlocked from inside.

You can use tools or explosives to remove it. Or you can ask your server admin to remove.

Thanks for the replies.

@JurasTW

Armored ladder hatches would be pretty cool--likely super expensive, but not as OP as they would be before since the new major twig cupboard change.

For the second item, I should have mentioned the placer like I did the first. If the system is unable to distinguish the placer of the frame vs anyone else, then the point is moot. There's the same problem arising later if another member of your group wants to do the same thing. Also, regarding raids, if a ladder hatch was present in the frame then the upgrade demolish option could be disabled. This would make it less "kinda dumb."

I stood on a temporary staircase and was able to hit the side of the frame easily by looking where the dent marks went.

I ended up having honey comb below it so the ladder hatch now goes nowhere.

@Rudolphus

I could use a gazillion picks or explosives to remove it, but I'd rather spend my resources elsewhere. I'm playing on official servers at the moment because I like a full month in between wipes (no admins there).

The system should not make a difference if you are the placer or not, or else base overtaking is not an option.
So my advice is plan before you build

once there was a removing option. but it was exploited as hell. So I don't think it will come back.

What I don´t understand: there is a plugin that a lot of modded servers use. You can remove everything you have build. Which is good and realistic. And only you can remove your stuff, noone else can and you can not remove things someone else has build. So why is this not possible as a regular feature in game?
It´s the same with the toolcupboard. You wouldn´t need a TC if you could just build on things you have build and destroy things you have build. Can not be that hard to change, if a plugin can do!
