spawning into rocks
I saw someone put a bedroll up next to an overhanging rock, commit suicide, then spawn into the rock. This person was then able to loot their body and build or hide boxes in said rock. You guys might want to fix that like...ASAP. Just thought the devs should know.

Also it seems you can shoot out of a rock, and see out, but can't be seen or shot from inside.
Sigon - this has been identified as an exploit (no-clip) in many games prior to Rust, and has been acknowledged in Rust since launch (Legacy). It is not longer possible to shoot outside the rock from directly inside the rock's 'walls', however. You must no-clip yourself out of the rock to use a weapon of any sort on the outside, thereby exposing yourself to weapon-attack by anyone outside. Further, it is possible to use a weapon against objects or players inside a rock by no-clipping through the rock-wall yourself.
This doesn't not seem to be a terrible exploit to take advantage of, since IRL one could conceivably mine out a rock and inhabit the newly mined cave.

So incorrect. getting into a rock is not no-clipping, no hacks are required. Yes, you can still shoot from inside the rock and that has not changed. Currently having a rock base is the ONLY way to protect oneself from no-clipping hackers. I don't like having to build the foundation of a home in a rock, but until hackers stop shooting me through walls, or no-clipping through walls and ceilings, or removing foundations and placing bags underneath, a rock base is necessary. As are doorway stashes. I recommend every legit player learns how to protect themselves against hacker-raids. 1) place spikes in your walls, 2) place stashes in your doorways and close doors, 3) build the first floor of your base in a rock and then build around that rock until it is hidden in your base wth the exception of an exit from the rock that cannot be easily blocked.

Rust is an amazing game, it is like magic for those that remember playing Fallout and Fallout 2 when they came out. Rust is freaking awesome, but the hackers that raid and kill legits are completely unstoppable by players without hacks (legits). Join the club, build in a rock. You'll still be griefed, but if you build right your base is safe from 99% of hackers- though a few can remove rocks so...
I'm afraid the previous commenter is not referring to Experimental branch, but remains stuck in Legacy-mode with regards to his statements. Being that Legacy is not the current offerring, I was speaking instead to the current state of the game, which prevents shooting through textrues, such as rock-faces, walls, or any other texture-mapping.

Buildings and other objects placed inside rocks can indeed be 'raided', in both Legacy, as well as Experimenatl Rust. However, it can be challenging to a player who is not familiar with such mechanics to locate the 'base'.

This techinique is indeed a form of noclipping, whereby one is able to 'see' beyond mapped elements. Call it what you will, it is not an absolute guarantee of uncomprimised building.

I was talking about the original. Hell when I posted this question over a year ago, there was no experimental.
