New player questions
Are there any PVE servers?
trying to learn only to be killed for my mushrooms seems useless.

Joining dead servers seems to be the only way to learn without dying every few minutes from rogue players wanting food.

Coming from just about any other sandbox game, and survival. Tell me, is this even worth the time to begin playing?

Back when I purchased this game in 2016 it wasnt ready for a large playerbase without bugs, and glitches. Logging in today to attempt to even learn basic concepts seemingly is useless when you can't get past a point due to people hunting you for mushrooms.

Should I just go back to having this just sit in my library?

Edit: I usually play with my duo, I'm not currently looking for someone to play with, more so just trying to figure out if the game is worth gameplay now.

Thanks for the offer, I'm not currently looking for someone to play with, just trying to wrap my head around if this game is actually worth putting time into or not. The first 30 minutes of me trying was not..enjoyable. If this is just how the game is, I'll be uninstalling and just docking it forever.

The game is hardcore PvP focused. PvE elements are a side track from the real game.... kill or be killed. I play from time to time and treat it like Dark Souls... I expect death at every corner; that way i'm not suprised. There are PvE servers and "NO KOS" (kill on sight) servers. Although I will warn you that you will not learn PvP skills there as you would on a regular server. I play solo only on this account and it can be daunting. I've played wipes without a base because there was no point in investing the time... but I had fun trolling still. I hope you can find a niche in the game you enjoy~ There is a system to increase survival as a solo.. make bags everywhere, and abuse the quests at fishing village early wipe for some scrap and BPs. Cheers

If you're in NA, there is a well moderated vanilla PvE server called Elysium. Fun server were you can learn to play in peace as long as you abide by their rules. No PvP unless you are in a team, I think,

you could also try playing soft core servers the player base of these servers still knows how to play the game but most of them are not that good and u keep like 20% of ur stuff if u get killed

You can try running your own private server on the same PC. If you don't configure your router to allow Rust traffic, you won't have to worry about anyone else joining. It's a good way to get used to the game mechanics and/or practice building, and it's free. You can also configure your router to allow Rust traffic and download a whitelist mod for the server and only allow friends to play.

Bro play Stevious 2x servers, easy to get loot, 2x more resource from nodes, Tier 1 blueprints all researched and a few Tier 2, its easy to get started and fun

I don't really even see RUST as being a PvE game .. there really are no Environmental threats that you have to face .. Without the need for top-tier guns (to PvP), you don't need to do Oil-Rig or any other monuments to "survive" the need to eat, or avoid pigs and bears .. If it's too hot, or too cold, you simply walk 20 meters that way -->

Lisha, try a PVE server or a very low pop PVP server if youre into that, thers some pretty good PVE servers around too.
i run one, and youre more than welcome to come learn here and stuff, theres npcs and stuff and a few other things you can do, theres a mini pvp game but dont loose anything and stuff, its like a bootleg COD minigame xD no need for items or weapons since you choose a class there thats premade for the session.
