90% Ram usage with stuttering fixes?
I have about 700 hours on this game and i know its never been super optimized but sometime recently the game pulls about 98% ram usage and i have 16Gb Ram gtx 1660Ti and a I7 cpu idk why it randomly started running so bad. I heard rust was victim to a memory leak which probably caused it but i have looked everywhere for a fix besides trying to bios edit, Can anyone help please god. Thank you!

Is the game on a ssd?

Do you have your page file set to your ssd?

Check to see if your PC is defaulting your page file to a HDD, because with only 16gb ram you will be spilling over into your page file for sure, which will cause issues if its on a slow HDD

Do you have a HDD drive in your PC? Chances are windows is using it by default to store your page file, aka virtual memory. Basically when a game needs more ram than you have , it will create virtual memory using your hard drive. If your PC is using a slow HDD to create this page file, it will cause lots of stuttering.

Follow these steps to check which hard drive your pc is using for the page file, if its set to your HDD change it to your SSD, should help massively for any games that need more than 16gb ram. Change it to ssd and I would recommend to keep it on "system managed size" instead of creating a custom size.

No problem man glad it worked for ya, dont think theres anything you can do to reduce memory usage but as long as its running well shouldnt matter

yeah i had messed with the paging file before just thought its name was virtual mem, messed around with forcing directx 12 instead of 11 and that did something but not enough so i uninstalled rust off my ssd and sent it to my hdd and set my paging file to my ssd that holds windows and worked like a charm
