As a 5000 hour player I can confidently say that cheating in Rust is as common as cheating in GTA5 online, The Devs have drove this game into the ground by focusing on meaningless updates rather than anti-cheat and im not even going to talk about the recoil update. FacePunch, do better.

Do a Google search for "cheaters rust" and go down the "People also ask" section and click the drop-down for the first question "Are there many cheaters in Rust?"

I logged onto a server I found on Battlemetrics and its name was official quantum hvh. There was no one on that server but me and after about an hour a player came on and ran around the base I just built. I asked if I could help him and he spoke to me in a British accent and said can you come outside I have something for you. I came outside and he was fully geared and I assumed he was the owner so, I address him as such. He said do you know what kind of server you are on and I said a one grid server and he said no, this is an HVH server. I said ok, what is HVH? He said it means Hacker verse Hacker. I said ok, that is nice. He said I will prove you and he proceded to climb up my base and then he told me he could shoot me through walls and hills. I said ok and then he shot me dead. I logged back on and he was a sleeper in front of my base. He had about 10k ammo and I figured he was admin. I looked up his name "Mickel" and he was insta banned. I then looked at his friends list and there was one name "sharon_long945596" and I looked at that names freinds list and there was 99 freinds. All of those names was the exact same and all had a level 0 account. so, 100 names on one account tells me they are all hacker names sitting there just waiting to be used.

There is actually a Youtube video called quantum hvh? with content creator named slashONE. He is a known Rust cheater that everyone in the comments are praising.
He has a tiktok called #quantumcheats. So blatantly putting it out there and where is Rust in all this? Where is Steam? I know of other game Devs that take hackers to court.

It took me 10 minutes to investigate if what this guy was saying was true and I am just a Rust player.

Also, I have come to the conclusion that all the naysayers and/or mockers are those who are paid influencers. The White House pays influencers as does other corporations.

Now, I will sit back and watch for those mockers and influencers to come here and do there job, lol

edit: I first found the server on just-wiped. It is a website you can go to in order to find a map for your server but down at the bottom it will give information about who has used the map and if it is presently being used so I clicked on it and thats how I found it.

Buddy, people cheat in literally every online pvp game. So have fun QQ'ing yourself out of multiplayer games. Is it right? No, but it happens. And certainly not to a degree where I'm encountering them enough to ruin the overall experinence and just quit.

"Anti-cheat?
A hugely complex topic. We work closely with Epic Games' Easy Anti-cheat, to aid in detecting and banning cheaters in Rust. We don't disclose what we do and don't do when it comes to anti-cheat for good reason. The more information we disclose publicly, the more it can assist cheaters and cheat developers to circumvent measures, it's a huge cat-and-mouse game."

Notice the double usage of *huge*.

At least they are banning them regardless of the game being 10 years old and ultra reliant on active players.

CS2 for example boasts big counts but over 25% are full blown cheats

Cheating in this game is out of hand. I agree. 9k + hours here. I hate the game and how hard it is to play without being cheated on.
