It's because you have a Steam ban on record and the server probably recently switched to Oxide, which uses the whitelist on default. The whitelist blocks access to users with VAC bans on record.

We just got Oxide on our server today and I had the same problem, removing the Whitelist worked right away. So I'm guessing the same thing happened to you! Let me know if that helps.

hi yes i have ban but the ban since 203 days mates.... rust wasn´t even released 203 days ago and the ban is not for rust

I know, mine is from 2800 days ago but since you do have a ban on record the whitelist automatically denies your connection.

It has nothing to do with what game you were banned from.

This is what i LOVE about steam, people complain about it ALL the time but if you hack or cheat this is what you get, lessons learned im sure and it doesn't make you a bad person. easy work around make a new steam acc with a new email.. good to go.

Exactly meepin! But Mr.Mackey, just contact the server owner and ask him if he can remove the whitelist, if he wants to keep it well you're kinda screwed for that server. Either go to a new one or rent out your own. Hope you can fix it! Cheers

Edit:
If you want to join a new server we have a fresh one you can join ;) [ sorry for advertising on your discussion btw but i thought it was an appropriate time :) ]

Yeah it's not steam keeping you from connecting, it's an add-on with the Oxide mod on the server itself.

I've never had a VAC Ban, and Oxide was already on the server I was playing, but suddenly I am getting this message. Pretty sure it's a bug,and not based on VAC bans, since I can get into other servers.

Same here. Just started happening this morning for me. Verified that I have had no VAC ban on my account EVER. Must be some recent change that was made or possibly Admins that don't know what they are doing.
