Extreme Lag playing Rust on Alienware m14x
Seriously, the game is totally unplayable for me. I can run around and do everything fine, but I'm lagging so hard I couldn't possibly play competitively. This is ridiculous. "It's just in alpha," whatever, no excuse for this level of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. My internet connection is not the problem, I'm running wired ethernet and no other games give me this problem.

Anybody have any fixes? Does anybody else have this problem? I feel like I just wasted $20.

I can run it just fine, have you tried going on different servers and lowering your graphical settings? I have a really good gaming PC so maybe I can run Rust really well because of high specs. Try lowering your graphical settings.

Yes, I've tried multiple servers. I know a laptop isn't the best gaming PC, but I'm running the game with the lowest graphic settings and I'm still receiving crazy lag. I have an Alienware M14x R1, and I can barely even play the game.

Im on a Alienware also but this is a beast Ive yet to try the game (downloading) but my room mate on the same style laptop is not having an issie and I know for a fact my internet is crud.. I will keep you posted :)

Thanks dude, please let me know. I've got windows 7 updated fully, PayDay 2 runs wonderfully, so do other games, but fu(king Rust won't work. The game looks so sick but I'm missing out. Good luck on your end.

Im on windows 8.1 Alienware m17x 32 gigs of ram .. I dont think I will have an issue.

Sweet, I have 8 gigs, major problem on my end. Is 8 gigs too little?

Hey man, I know this is old, but how can I know for sure?
What kind of GFx card do you have?

It's not that good, but it should run this game okay....
I forgot about nVidia, since I have an AMD now. But you should be able to right click and go to the nVidia control panel. Add this game and set it to max performance or whatever.
Also, set everything possible in there to max so it doesn't try using the other junk.
