C4 Has GOT TO BE nerfed! here is why
ok so after spending some hours i have come to the conclusion...C4 Is game breaking... some people do not have c4... but when you get it or can create it. It destroys the game for TONS of people. Now I think the concept of c4 destroying a metal door is awsome. But i know that its way to easy to get c4...

c4 makes bases pretty much useless because its not uncommon to have 20-80 things of c4... therefor you need 20-40 metal doors in your base to MAYBE be safe....

2nd it BREAKS Spiked walls...spiked walls serve absolutly no purpose. if you have a spiked wall whats that going to do? waste 1 c4 charge? people have hundreds of c4.. i have had over 50 c4 and my buddy has 3xSTACKS of c4. I also know around 8 or 9 people in my server who have this much c4. so i joined a new server...same thing... and another..


c4 needs to be how it is now.. but make it VERY VERY hard to make or Expensive....

it should take 20 hours to accuire 2-3 charges of c4... u should not be able to run into 4-5 houses in 1 night and just raid everything.. i like c4 but man just so easy

C4 shouldn't be lootable and crafting must cost much more. I am like an Sisyfos, doing houses again and again, almost thinking about stop playing

no need for C4 its just invites ppl to run around blowing other ppls hard work only to serve their twisted notion of fun. Remove C4 devs its just destroys the game and otherwise sone bakance i.e booby traps, alarms or IED;s to f'up those prowling knob jockeys.

Real players have integrity always, if they don't they will let YOU know they are coming after you and you better damn well do something about it. Sounds like ruthless hackers. C4 is good for those that can't dupe it. All for the efforts of war, revenge and alliance!

i agree, C4 really is game-breaking. lost over 80 hours of farmed materials after someone blasted through 32 metal doors.

On a side note, in base-construction, i've determined its IMPOSSIBLE to build the "unbreachable base". towers can be staircased and walls on the top be blasted out, making a combination tower in center/layers of foundations/walls around it only makes them use 1-2 more charges PER LAYER, and the layers get exponentially more expensive to make each time.

cant there be a base design that actually works? i think ive tried about everything.

That maybe takes longer for them to find you, but is in no way a guarantee for not getting raided. I build a few shelter in the hackervillage, where noone came around. After 4 Days and a lot of looting wood and stuff, i got raided. I think they dont find something intersting besides the wood, and just throw away all my stuff. even the charcoal fro my campfire. c4 should simply be banned from this game, as its a gamebreaking element.
Why should i bother collecting stuff and building a simpel shelter, if anytime they can just blow it away in two seconds...

I'de rather have my crap house in the middle of a field and get raided daily with 2 stacks of wood and a metal frag stack, than have something i worked so hard on be blasted away two weeks from now. thats just ragequit ♥♥♥♥

The only people who would ragequit are the weak-minded. Honestly, Rust isn't for everyone and that's what makes it beautiful. Too many games as of late have done nothing but dumb down the average gamer by spoiling them (holding their hands). Rust is authentic for how barebones it is and for that, I enjoy it very much.

And while I'm being blunt, people should of known what they signed up for. Anyways, I'm fine with weak-willed players quitting. Having an abundance of casual gamers around isn't always a good thing. I mean compare this forum to DayZ's and what's the difference? Both have ignorant self-entitled gamers who eitehr can't handle or comprehend the concept of risk vs reward, open sandbox pvp or full loot systems. I know it's not 100% their fault they've ended up this way, but if they can't ADAPT to a game, are they still gamers? And isn't adapting part of surviving- which is the ongoing theme for both game titles Rust and DayZ?

That's when I say "maybe Rust isn't for everyone, maybe that's why Rust is so special." Not every game should be made for the masses. We have enough low grade games out there that contains zero depth or setbacks.

thats why im still playing, but think of all the crap the raider gets. the materials to make 80 more C4 and raid literally the entire server 8 times over. c4 needs a nerf, explosives only cost 20 gunpwder 5 sulfur and 2 low grade fuel. needs to be dramatically increased in costs so that C4 isnt as rampant to where anyone on the same server for more than 5 days can get their hands on 50+ C4 and totally dominate the entire server.


I know, i'm the guy with the C4, and its not fun anymore.

2 things get rid of sleepers this is a stupid idea have no way to defend urself from an attack when ur offline and boobytraps could combine laser sight+gunpowder+metal fragments

bobbytraps to stop the raiders, perhaps a cooldown system on the use of C4. That way all they could get is say 4-10 doors per day. this would at least allow some measure of defense for a base. i personally havent had my town c4ed yet but i know the guys are out there. Yes its irritating but at the same time fun because worst case scenario all i have to do is go build more doors and make more guns up. much better then some of the other options out there where u die, u lose, u go loot all over again. i have only 2 major griefs with this game, ppl complaining about base getting raided when they irrect sarumons tower in the middle of a field, and the amount of C4 ppl can make/carry/find. it just needs to be nerfed a bit more. great game either way tho, already banded together with my server to fight a group of raiders... pretty awesome! :)

Wow. Explosives indeed are that cheap to make, but now times all that by 15 plus whatever it costs to craft flares because that is what it costs to craft 1 C4 - plus it takes 2 mins per charge - 50 charges = 100 mins or 1 hour 40 mins stood next to workbench before you've added all the time gathering and crafting the precursor materials!!!! - think about it.

The mechanics are not finished yet, all you folks shouting Nerf/Ban/C4 are totally missing the point, go back to the first 20 posts and read my replies - Yes booby traps will be great and I'm sure they'll be added at some point but, wait for it, this IS an ALPHA stage product.

The people with 50+charges are either cheating or working in a large group > this means whatever you do to nerf or disable C4 will not affect them, The cheats and big groups will still dominate, all you will be hurting is smaller groups and individual players.

I give up.

What the game needs are impenetrable safes with fingerprint id that way scum lose all enthusiasm altogether. Make the blast safe doors too, that way x amount of hrs gathering raw materials isn't in vain.
