Can't place workbench/furnace?

So I started playing last night and so far managed to build a decent house.
I've been able to place down campfires, boxes, wals, etc but for some reason I can't seem to place down a workbench or furnace.
It will show the green outline but I can't place it.
I've tried inside my house, on a foundation without walls or roof, on the grass, ... but all the same, green outline but no placing.
Not sure if I'm missing something, doing something wrong, maybe a server problem or just a bug.
Any ideas?

So until that gets fixed all I can do right now is build a base, kill things and craft basic gear?

I can confirm that as of now this bug still exists. Hope they fix this soon. It's unplayable like this.
