Why I wont buy Rust (50 slot min)

The reason I will not be purchasing Rust.

The devs of Rust are enforcing a 50 player MINIMUM on all servers(somehow people are bypassing that). The maps current size(counting node areas ONLY) is only big enough for about 20 players.

I personally do not want to play with 50 players. The game plays best with 20 players atm and I will not purchase the game or host a server for the game until this minimum player amount is lifted.

My conversation with a server host.

Unfortunately the reason why you see us all not offer anything less than 50 slots is because we have requirements set by the Rust team and have to obey them.

What I CAN do, is tell you 100% that he is wrong, thats what started this, his opinion is WRONG about the size of the servers. Thats the issue, he cant say anythign about server size when he hasnt even actually played the game, hes TRIED the game.

Just due to curiosity, what would you even post this for? Do you honestly think 1 person outside your little click gives a damn if you actually play or not? you are 1 of 10,000 people that wont play LOL Yes, 10k ppl play at any given time, and it will only get bigger.

Reasons? I see one reason that he has there, and it is a valid one. If someone wants to pay for a dedicated server, why shouldn't they be allowed to get the closest amount of slots that they want? It's not like hes complaining about the actual game, and he's not making up game-breaking bugs or anything. The guy just wants to have a smaller server size available before he purchases the game. It's perfectly reasonable.

It was also already stated, that is due to the Rust dev team.

Private servers when they are allowed to be ran, will have the customizable option to make a server the size you want.

@ Russellpenn123 - Atm, 50 is the minimun, he is correct on that. However, the area he is comlaining about, is not as small as what he thinks. This game is not meant to be played solo, and if you try, you will die.

50 people will not magically join your server.. you'd be lucky to have a few + your friends..

you will get bored out of your mind though.. game is best played with people.

I average about 25 on my server at all times, sometimes lower, depending if the hunters are online.

Opinions usually arn't wrong.... because its you know.. personal preference.
Maybe because you like something doesn't mean somebody else has to feel the same way about it.
So fact, his opinion is the servers are too big, how can his opinion be wrong?
If i say this game sucks it sucks for me thats my opinion and you telling me that i'm 100% wrong won't change my mind. (I don't have the game so i wouldn't know just using it as an example)

And whats wrong with having servers with only 20 players? You play on a server for 50 and he plays on a 20 player server... where is this bad for you why are you against it? And don't claim your personal opinions to be facts because they are not.

Yes, he can have an opinion, but that changes when he involves an altematum. It changed from opinion once he did that.

But to say, 50 is absurd, when he doesnt even know the map, that also isnt an opinion, he doesnt know the real size of the map.

Even with 50 people, if you dont goto the high traffic areas, you WILL NOT see anyone. Thats how the game works. If people wanna build near a road, prepare to get raided. Again, he just doesnt KNOW the game, thats where my issue is.

Also, this is a group game, if you are in a group of less than 10 people, you will likely be raided and killed every night. Again, thats just the way the game goes, you cannot play this solo.

Look i don't own the game just browsing the forum to see if its something i would want (probably not but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game for others)

Also its still his opinion and thats making him not buying the game. And thats about it nothing you can do and nothing he can do besides hoping the devs will listen. So don't get on your high horse if you want to convince him min 50 players is good then tell him why its good and that there is no reason for 20 players.

To me, with a topic as vague as that, it means everything in the following post is reasons why he wont buy it. Maybe OP needs to be more clear and concise in what his topics mean.
