Microphone Not Working

Re-binded my voice chat key to Middle Mouse button. Voice chat isn't working for me.
I've set my microphone as the default recording device and it registers on almost every other game. Did the same to set Steam's voice chat to my microphone as well.

Could anyone help?

I fixed this problem by going ingame to steam overlay and going to settings > microphone/talk > and then choosing my microphone and also doing a microphone test.

A POSSIBLE FIX!!!!!!!!!

Start by clicking steam top left of launcher "steam" > "settings" > "voice" > now click on "change device" now select your headset/microphone your using, now click on "SET TO DEFAULT" apply.

Now do a "test microphone" and your should hear yourself (this means its working now).

This worked for me, I had the mic show up when i pressed hotkey. The green mic icon would come up but no voice meter or sound would xmit.

Try it then tell me if it doesn't work.

Just go to your steam friends then click the arrow next to your profile and hit change profile name then go to the tab that says voice and make sure you have the right microphone.

ive tried everything and nothing is helping any more solutions? all was fine last night and today no mic, mic icon lights up but no one hears me. mic wprks fine on other things but not rust any more
