Can you die while disconnected?

So, here ist the thing.
I played Rust for a while now and everytime i stoped playing, go to sleep and want to start again the next day my character, which was pretty geared up, starts as a fresh spawn.
I first thought this could be because of a server restart or character wipe, but i still can craft all the things i learned on the previous day so that's probably not it.

So my guess is i must have died somehow, but the last time i disconnected from the server, i was quiet fine.

Now my questions is, can you still get killed or die from hunger etc. while offline?

On sleeper servers, yes, by other players.

Happened to me too, frustrating! I lost all my weps / armor. I went back to my house and my sleeping bag was there and stash, so not raided at all, pve server btw. Thing is though, look in your crafting inventory and you still have the researched blueprint items, like holo sight, MP5 etc. Seems it refreshes your character but not your stats.

This is the thing, you get hungry and die in the servers where you go to sleep while disconnected. There are modded servers that disable this option.

No, dont lie to people. You wont die fron hunger/thirst or even MOBS. Only players can kill you while you are sleeping.

i run my own server a brand new one in fact we have 2 mods for the server Economy where u can earn money for killing rad animals along with bears and wolfs and Bounty where you can put hits on your enemies or even your friends. our server ip is 66.223.16.10:28015. all players are welcome and we look forward to playing with you no admin abuse only one admin which is myself. i am the owner and i dont play with any admin powers so its fair for all players. I am open to suggestion about the server.
