i owuld love this game, but just as minecraft, it will be destroyed by player owned servers...... aka, in some weeks, it wont be playable anymore due to hacks/mods/exploiting.
No offense to anyone, but its like saying COD and Battlefield are "Half Life-y", or even "Domey"
To the OP - please post this on every FPS you can find on steam - just for the sake of fairness - IMO that genre hasn't moved a half step gameplay wise between Quake and Far Cry 3 in 15 years.
Oh - and Real time strategy games.
And point and click adventure games
And whack-a-mole 3rd person shooters
and....
Or maybe games have genres. Some you like - sone you don't.
I don't like mInecraft due to the obsession with undead rubbish "swords and sorcery" doesn't do it for me. But others love it.
If people don't like these games they won't sell.
If they do it will
The fact they are becoming a genre rather than descrete games is pretty much irrelevant. Nearly every game is from a genre - and the craft-em-up i one of the newest and least well served compared with RTS, FPS, whack-a-mole 3rdPS, Soccer games, and others.
If you are going to dump on craft 'em ups then dump on every genre or realize you have no valid point to make - other than maybe this isn't your favourite type of game - in which case just move on and let others do whatever the hell they want.
Edit: Realized the irony that this and Garry's Mod are actually made by the same people. Woooaaah.
Terraria is more casual than Minecraft? What?
Heck, if I was an amazing coder and I saw a successful concept, then I'd copy it... I'd just do a better job. XD That's why copy cat games aren't really bad- they fix stuff.
