Rust Server connection/disconnection, EAC EasyAntiCheat Fix

So I had several rage fits over getting disconnected over and over each time I tried to play Rust. Sometimes I'd be in the game for 5 to 15 minutes and others I couldn't even wake my character up. I searched around and I couldn't find any help.

First of all Easy Anti Cheat needs Steam to run. I did not know this so the .exe I was running is why I was getting dumped immediatly upon entering the game. So first and foremost you need to run Rust through steam.

Second. Even though I had done the above I was still getting the random drop out. I would be running around gathering wood and then the wood would stop counting up and in a few moments I would be completely kicked from the game. I went into my system files and I gave a rust.exe permission to always run as an administrator. The pathway for me was

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rust

in that folder there are two items named Rust, one has the logo and the other is genaric. I right clicked on the genaric one. Properties. Compatability. Run As Administrator.

I then tested it out for 2 hours without fail... for science.

But what if writing EAC user banned? I did not use any cheats and other Vac ban.Help me please!

Just got the game and it won't run for me... I was so excited to run around naked and die a lot... sigh...

I've followed many of the suggestions in this thread and others and still no go.

Running through Steam Client result in 'rust.exe has stopped working' with and the following message.

It WORKS when I run the RustClient.exe directly, but I get an EAC disconnect issue when trying to join a game. I know the issue is related to EAC but I am not sure how to get further.

As mentioned, I've tried pretty every suggestion spanning the last two years worth of forum posts and have tried all the tricks and still nothing.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really want to run around naked and throw rocks n' ♥♥♥♥. I need this in my life.

I had another issue where the game crashed and this was the solution to make it start up again and then I got this EAC bug after fixing that bug by starting as admin. Is there any other fix?

Try setting RUST as an exception in your anti-virus software. EAC seems to get blocked a lot by them.

Already tried that for both Rust and EAC. Still nothing :(

Good to hear! I was also able to get it working. I heard back from EAC, and as Magnus7 was suggesting, it was related to my AV, but passing it exceptions weren't enough, had to completely uninstall it and suddenly there was a Steam update after restart that made everything work fine. Apparently the AV I was using, Panda, causes known issues. EAC has tried contacting them and offering their files for review, but no luck, so suck it Panda AV!

So to sum up, had to uninstall my AV but kept Win Defender and firewall up, all good!
