First day playing Rust experimental.

LAG,LAG,LAG and more LAG.


First day playing Rust legacy on the official UK servers.

1, I was shot in the face by someone with a machine gun. They stole my planks. Awesome victory. lol

2, I fell down a crack between rocks, completely surrounded. I didn't hear anyone approaching... I got shot in the head. That magic bullet must have come through the mountain.

3, I built a base 4 pillars high. Before I had chance to place a ceiling on it, a guy jumped from the ground all the way up to come through the gap where my roof would be. He killed me with a rock.
I respawned at my base and hit him back with my rock. He did another super jump out of my base, landed on the ground and ran off.
I laughed and said I had him cheating on video, so he offered to give me my stuff, that he was looting when I respawned, back.

Great game guys, VAC protected, EAC protected, multiple anti-cheat combobulators running, yet nothing but newbie killers and cheats in the official servers.

I'm just down the road from birmingham, any chance I can pop in and get a refund?

Well if your getting lag try upgrading your internet or buy a better graphics card

yes they may be cheaters in rust.but at last they get vac banned.you got to think this game is in alpha......garry made hes own anti cheat witch works pretty good.......

Yes main version is currently having terrible performance issues, but they're being looked into.

Legacy only have VAC, it's not EAC protected.
(Well there's cheatpunch, but it's not being updated and most of cheats evades it's detection)

Are we playing the same game? You think their anti-cheat stuff works well? Really? Honest? I think you must be playing Star Trek Online or something, not Rust.

Nothing wrong with my internet or graphics. Join one of the experimental servers and see the lag for yourself, you'll also see everyone asking how to reduce it.

Different parts of the map give different levels of lag, clearly there is no kind of optimization. It's not so bad if you go somewhere miles away from anyone or anything, but then... What's the point?

There's nothing to do in Experimental and it says in the version logo it hasn't been updated for nearly 500 or 600 days? If this is true, and it hasn't been updated for over 18 months, it's appauling.

I take it FP aren't interested in stopping the cheats on the official servers in favour of making money from the community servers being admined for free? Or am I just being cynical here?

Their anti-cheat (Cheatpunch) did it's work when it first appeared, and actually it was meant to be tool for different stuff but it could be used as anti-cheat feature so they used it and it banned over 4000 people on first day, the number could be wrong it was long time ago.

But after couple of days cheat makers already made their cheats undetectable by cheatpunch and I doubt it has not been updated ever since.

I don't know what's wrong with the date counter, but it was updated at least two weeks ago.
(Dev beta is updated almost daily)

Also you can host servers for free, so it's up to players do they buy hosted server or create own, but it's not that known among people yet.

I just played on an official rust legacy server, what do you know, a hacker tp's to me and shoots me in the head for calling him a hacking ♥♥♥♥♥

Keep it mind, garry is a modder, not a developer (this is his first actualy game AFAIK, gmod is a source mod), although that doesn't excuse the terrible gamedev-101 mistakes he makes everytime. The current devlog, shows 2 or 3 minor things, that took almost a whole month to make... Its terrible, no excuses for this....

lol how much you play the game? in the last weeks it was not minor changes, there are big changes, before you tell ♥♥♥♥, inform yourself

i agree with you TheInfusionGamer i have plenty of hours in this game i have to admit that i f.....g love it, if garry wanted a better anticheat he can have it really fast but hes taking the same strategy with valve they want to sell more copies so they dont give a damn about cheaters .Everything is about money try servers with online admins is your only chance.
