How do i stack and split items?

i have alot of raw wolf meat but they are all in stacks of 4 or less.. i try moving them over each other but it doesnt stack.
also when i accidently split the stack cos of the messed up item selection/spliting system it wont restack.. so i end up with 2 or 1 stack of meat.
HOW do i even split with exact amounts.. i have like 10k wood but it would only lower it down to 500 or so because of the again messed up spliting system :S

this problems are a feature of RUST so that "skill" is relevant in the game, to have proper stacking skills make sure your rage level is as high as possible and lower your IQ to <35 if its not yet the case
