Load Crash Fix / Start Game Workaround

Decided to make my posts into one main post to help users.

Below is 1 fix and 1 workaround for the now default Experimental Branch, hope they help.

Game Crashes On Start Up

If your game crashes when you try to start it up (does not reach the client menu) then you can try this:

Step 1:
http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/126962#LetMeFixItMyselfAlways (I set mine as: SharedSection=1024,12288,1024)

Step 2:
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\rust and run the RustClient.exe
(C:\Program Files may not be your destination, replace this with your steam folder destination)

Make sure steam is running before selecting the RustClient.exe but do not start rust from steam itself.

Game Crashes When You Select "Start Game" From The Client Menu

This is a workaround as I have not yet been able to find an actual fix.

Step 1:
Go to: http://rust-servers.net/version/1144/ and select the IP:Port of the server you wish to join.

Step 2:
Open the game client
(DO NOT SELECT "START GAME")
Press F1 on the main menu
Type: client.connect IP:Port
(IP:Port you get from the server list provided)

Make sure you do not press the "Start Game" option on the game menu (as it will crash), so press F1 as soon as the game loads.

Nice post. Now please post a fix for being able to waken up from your sleeping bag due to the bug.

Sometimes i still crash when im in the server but still, atleast i get a good couple of mins of gameplay!

When I had that bug I restarted the game (and steam) and then I was able to wake up.

Open the F2 menu and put everything on low, should help.
