Mic quality on rust? / Any one else use a Blue: Snowball?
Hey guys :)
I love rust and I've decided to buy a mic so i can shout "FRIENDLY! JESUS CHRIST IM A FRIENDLY YOU MOTHER UFFER!!! STOP SHOOTING!!!" rather than typing it. Hopfully I wont get killed so much :) However, I've noticed that the quality of microphones that user users use are AWFUL! They sound muffled and far away. I was just wondering is this a RUST problem or is it a microphone quality problem? I have read old reports that RUST's microphone quality is a bit rubbish.. however that was just after release.

I am tempted to get a Blue: Snowball and mix them with my £200 Studio headphones. Has anybody used this microphone?

Most people sound fine and you can hear them from a good distance away. It might help to mess with your volume. Everyone can understand me with a $10 mic.

I actually have my speakers up 100% and sometimes it's still so quiet. I have a £120 soundcard so it's not a cheap one or anything.. >< maybe im just on a bad server for mics lol
I can't remember how the volume sliders work in rust but I mean maybe try to turn down sound effects and max mic volume. Some sound drivers come with an application that lets you turn up the volume even louder than windows allows.

@Rig :( Alas, i've tried :( The sliders in rust don't actually work very well tbh :(. If i turn my speakers (the knob) up, windows up etc.. everything is blaring apart from the voices >< grrr..
Just didn't know if it was worth paying out £50 for a micrphone if it was always going to sound rubbish :(
