Hacking on Rust is getting out of hand
Currently 2-3 hackers on the Facepunch Texas server.

One of the guys names is wobblins, I have multiple screen shots of him admitting to hacking and I can upload more. However, are we able to report hackers? There needs to be a report system because obviously VAC is not working.

Hes able to fly into bases and speed hack aswell. Its very unfair for players and my neighbor just got his roof blown up and stole over 156 explosives, all because he could fly and speed hack.

This needs to come to an end.

Legacy or new version?

And no there's not report system (Well expect the report button in the profile) and FP don't take any reports.

What he said. We pay for a game, and it should be fair. I know The Devlopers. are working hard but some us spend alot of time playing.

Its the new version. I know legacy is corrupt and won't be patched, but experimental needs to be fixed.

Well FP let the EAC to deal with the cheating problem, so you've to trust on them.

And it looks like EAC is doing bans in waves like VAC does, so the cheaters may roam for a while before being banned.

Edit: small typo.

I beg to differ as there isn't any hackers on your servers just plug and play cheaters. None of those kiddies could write a simple code. So calling cheaters hackers is what their small... You know whats wanna hear.

Weakling cheaters I laugh at you.

and then they get another steam account. or just rejoin with their newly aquired steam ban and just keep cheating.

I agree with Kotov, there is a huge difference between a hacker, and a hack user. One only takes an idiot to download and use. When the other takes a lot of skill and time/devotion to create.

Don't give this cheaters extra credit by calling them l33th4x0rs

When VAC or EAC gets them and they get banned they cant just rejoin with the same Steam account unless they are joining non vac protected servers.

And for the privilage of joining VAC protected servers after a ban they have to purchase Rust each time.

Just for this reason I feel like Facepunch is not doing all they can to prevent cheating in their game. How much extra revenue do you think they make from idiots rebuying the game after they get their account banned? I wish a ban would just extend to the ip address of the user to curtail this type of behavior, but then FP would lose that extra revenue.

Maybe I am wrong and FP is doing all they can, I would hope that is the case.

They are doing all they can, as too are VAC and EAC. The problem with any game is that as fast as you fix any possible weakness, the cheats will be trying out new ways to cheat.

It's the same with AV and anti spam programs, they're always working on a new way to bypass the system but your always playing catch up.

VAC seems to be doing a great job and even though I think the idea of cheats being able to re-buy the game is wrong it does put more revenue in to development and helps pay towards the constant battle against cheats. If you banned them by IP, they would just find a work around.
