How to remove a lock from a door

How do i remove a lock from my door? I want to place my keypad in it instead.

You do can remove it. Hold E on the lock and there will be an option to remove it.

Yes you can wtf? Hold E on it with the key in your inventory.

you have to open the door , unlock the lock with key , hold e to remove lock
