Rust
Gambling platforms free spins can get you steam banned?
I recently found rustyloot platform, gambling platform, it gives u 0.06 coin each 15 mins which u can use to earn skins, as u can win some while playing, it's not worth a ban, note : it doesn't requiere an api key, just sign in through steam and put trade url, im using the free part of the platform, im.not depositing skins or using real money to gamble , just free spins, will this put my account in danger of getting banned? There are very few discussions about gambling sites , différent answer some say yes others no, most of them around api keys and csgo/cs2

It's more of a chance that your account will be hijacked, sold, then used to cheat. That will result in a ban.

There are very few discussions about it, because it isn't really allowed to be discussed, and definitely not allowed to be advertised .. As viking says, any site you link to your steam account increases the risk of you getting your account stolen and banned from rust when someone hacks the gambling site and steals your username and password, which gives them access to your real email address, and the ability to change your email so that you never even know they used your account.
Just like any other social media site, if it's FREE, then YOU are the product for sale, and how they make money .. it's not a matter of IF, but When you get your Steam account "hacked"/stolen.

to me this reads like someone trying to skirt community guidelines by heavy handedly putting in WAY MORE detail about "offers" etc than you would need if it were a LEGITIMATE concern, I also note the name...
if the site "worried" you then you would just name the site and ask known history
so I now wonder
were you payed to ask, and if so why?
is this to see if general steam users are aware of the antics yet?
why give so much "detail" with the site in your NAME if you have any doubts at all?
no trust in Rust
and you fly more red flags than China!

Hello,

I apologize if this is not the correct place to submit this ticket, but I wasn’t sure where to ask.

I found a platform that grants users a free spin each time, offering a chance to win in-game skins for Rust. However, I want to confirm whether this is legal. The platform also has gambling-related games, but I do not participate in them, nor do I deposit skins or real money. My only concern is whether receiving a skin from the free spin could result in any issues.

The platform does not require an API key but is signed through Steam. The rules are clearly stated, but the community has not provided a definitive answer. Since most discussions focus on CS:GO skins and gambling sites using CS:GO skins, I want to be sure whether using the free spin feature on this platform could put my Steam account at risk of any type of ban.

I would appreciate any clarification on this matter.

Thank you.

This is a screenshot of discussion with support agent from the platform.
Since I can sign in using Steam, that means Steam is accepting it, right?
The final decision will surely come from Steam, not the platform, and that would be really helpful.

imo the best answer is the first response to this post. The people who get "wrongfully banned" are people who use these sketchy gambling sites. Your information gets sold out to the websites selling Steam accounts, and then used to cheat in Rust. That's what gets your account banned. So, in reality, it's only a matter of time. So enjoy your crooked gambling addiction. Hope you get help some day.

Hello,

Our team does not provide support for issues related to trading, buying, receiving, or selling items through a non-Steam service or website. When trading with a third-party site (or "depositing" items), users are given explicit warnings that they're agreeing to send items to another account in exchange for nothing in return. By approving these trades you're putting your items at risk and this may result in the permanent loss of your items.

We recommend you not use your credentials on any hird-party platforms that you don't trust.

For help with issues caused by these kinds of sites or services, check the website’s support page or contact the site's owner directly.

I'm sorry we can't be of more help with this.

Dang, almost like you were told this. Had to waste people's time. lmao
Dooks Feb 12 @ 6:15pm
after several THOUSAND hours in this game on not just this account but also my server accounts I have seen HUNDREDS of players lose everything in their inventory, their games and even their TOTAL account
Rust really is one of the worst along with csgo for scams
personally if I were you now I would update all passwords and if not done set up 2fa
are skins worth losing everything and a lifetime ban?
these sites are super high risk and even in the unlikely event they are being honest they only need to be hacked once for YOU to lose!
I hope you stop using them for YOUR sake
best wishes

the answer is not clear either amigo, it never was about if my account will get hacked the banned for cheating or whatever, it's either yes you will get banned from steam for participating in gambling sites just for free spins or bonus with no real money gamble or no you will not, but judging from " I'm sorry we can't be of more help with this. " goes along with the answer of Steaks on reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/13er5f7/if_i_have_my_steam_account_linked_to_gambling/#:~:text=This%20means%20that%20you%20may,be%20grounds%20for%20a%20ban.

i think you will get banned. stay away folks!

it was a 5-day story that's all, i don't want to sacrifice my account for that, this is all what this discussion i posted is about. and i didn't put any credentials, i just signed in through steam, while i'm ingame ( shift+tab) = official steam website , account already connected, so they have nothing but the public information that everyone sees. that's why i wasn't worried about being hacked, even steam guard is on, but my concern is participating in gambling websites just for the free part is also illegal in steam or no, i even used ai to help me find the answer from different discussions and websites and yes it is illegal.
( i didn't know that steam updated policy )
