It's completely impossible to play Rust since the last update.

Since the last update, it's impossible to launch the game or join a server.
Sometimes I get a message telling me that I have to launch Rust from Steam: this is already the case.
Sometimes I launch the game and it shuts down before reaching the main menu.
and sometimes when the game finally launches, the game crashes when I try to join a server.

I had a friend buy the game and since the day of the update we have never been able to play it.
and, yes of course I tried all the possible solutions before asking. check files, reinstall nvidia drivers, stop discord, reinstall the game. and anyway my friend who bought the game goes on a clean installation and we both have exactly the same problem so it does not come from the client part.

Is a solution planned by the Developers?

same problem. get into loading and a minute in crashes with no error code. ive tried upping the virtual memory, restarting, redownloading the game, verifying game files, checked i have space on my ssd, checked gpu and cpu temps, checked for driver updates and system updates, i even lowered every rust setting to be the lowest and it still crashes just trying to load ukn.

Wouldn't it likely be very much "coming from the client part" if you both suffer from it? Especially if you haven't even joined a server yet? It sounds like the client is the only reasonable explanation. Although, still Facepunch's fault I suppose, but anyway...
I'm having crashed 1-2 times per 24h and the occasional "Is steam running?" error when trying to start Rust (from Steam ironically enough). Bet they're very aware of it and are trying to fix it, but bugs aren't always a "just fix it" task. It might require some actual work and sometimes they even take time to locate due to being caused by a dangling pointer, a hard to find memory leak etc.
Here we don't have to act like the toddlers in-game. Be detailed and calm and you'll likely be back playing in no time.
