Account got hacked, now I have a VAC ban?

Someone hacked into my account, purchased some in game items, refunded them, now I have my first VAC ban when I haven't played the game in years. Is there any way to change my login credentials to make sure they aren't still using the account? I reset my email and password in steam, but it's still acting up. I didn't really play Rust, but I don't want a vac ban on my account.

Already emailed the studio, just trying to make sure my account isn't still compromised. Thanks to anyone who can help.

EDIT* It's a game ban, not VAC ban. Anybody know if Rust Developers ever remove them if I send screenshots of the purchases that were bought and refunded?

You need the Steam Guard APP

My account gets hacked like 5 times a year and even my old ass email that I used 20 years ago on this platform is compromised but because I have the Steam Guard App on my phone there is no way for them to steal it.

Fyi rust does not issue vac bans.

Edit: to clarify you have a game ban and not a vac ban.

I had the steam guard app on my phone, somehow they got through anyway. I had to scan my PC with some linux USB stick to detect 2 trojan viruses that got past Avast. It was some weird activity, so I changed all my info an ordered a new debit card. Super whack.

Sometimes not very often they will do a false ban that would get removed if proved it was indeed a false ban, your best bet is to contact facepunch directly and see if they can clarify it either way.
