Premium is Ret*****
Why does Premium account status go by skins in order to identify a "fresh" account. Why would it not be based on purchase date or hours played. I have nearly 2k hours and have been playing since legacy but since I do not have $15 of skins for Rust in particular than im ineligible. If this isnt some money grab bs then I dont know what else to call it. Absolutely ridiculous.

Looking at your profile and inventory it's not like you can't exactly afford to get 15 quid worth of skins.

The whole point of this is to increase the price of entry to reduce the amount of cheaters you meet, its 100% optional. it went from 3$ an account to cheat to 18$ suddenly 10-20 accounts a month is costly
i agree with you, i said this from day 1, not everybody is interested in buying skins and they shouldn't be pressured into buying them, i don't believe for one second it's JUST about stopping cheaters

I'm honestly curious do we know how much money they make from market sales? Because I'm assuming Steam takes a % the seller clearly gets the most so how much does Facepunch get from say exactly 15 quid worth of skin sales on the market?

Not saying you are wrong for a second but I'm honestly curious as to how much they are making from this.

Just been checking stuff out and if you buy skins from the community market like most of us do Facepunch gets none of that money so it's not really making them any money at all. If you buy skins from their store of course they make money so the only real complaint people can have is the fact they do have to spend money.

Facepunch basically make no money from this if people buy from the market. As that is player to player sales with only Steam taking a cut.

I'm assuming by "seller" you meant the person who created the skins, and you're talking about the original sale .. if that's correct, I would be shocked if the original creator got more than Facepunch for each original sale .. subsequent re-sales, the original creator gets nothing, and I don't think Facepunch gets anything, only Steam and the Reseller.
i was thinking more the in game dlc packs which they seem to be doubling down on lately, but i think you guys are right .. they get nothing from market transactions, i dunno i just find it really coincidental that they suddenly started charging more in the store just before they implemented this premium system xD ... but eh i still buy them anyway >.<

Dude, if you’re poor just say that. We aren’t judging you. You’re broke and that’s okay. No one’s forcing you to play it.

Cheat subscriptions cost $20 to $50 per month, so this won't significantly reduce their use.
I personally don't mind, but it is somewhat discriminatory towards players who are legit and can`t afford extra costs.

1% of that time spent on the game putting fries in the bag would get you an entry :p4g_idea:
How about they just improve their Anti-Cheat? I have tons of skins.. so I couldn't give two phucks. But this is a very bad joke.. ( hey guys to combat cheaters here's how we are going to do it!! You're going to give us more money for things you don't want!! That's right! We aren't going to invest in our anticheat at all! - Helk.
