Rust
FPS issue fixed by screenshare on discord?????
My friend got a gaming laptop. When he plays rust his game has strange freezes every second but when he screenshares rust on discord and someone is watching the freezing stops and he can play normally again. Anyone know what might be causing this?

is he somehow accidentally recording while playing? And the recording stops when he screen shares?

He probably has that auto record last 10 minutes of gameplay or whatever on

Nibidia replay/shadowplay *old name* does that sometimes, Go turn that ♥♥♥♥♥ off
update gpu drivers and check taskmanager for anything that is being cpu or gpu intensive

Ask him if he had re-plugged in a second monitor recently. Theres an issue with 2nd monitors being plugged back in where it makes video latency and little half second hiccups every 15-20 seconds.
it's a laptop, my best guess is too much heat

We found that disabling his processor's integrated graphics fixed the freezing issue but he's got lower fps than he did before.
