Why is the handmade smg so trash?

Well, compared to revolver it's not worse, on the contrary. Yes, it does relatively low damage and the fall-off at distance is a lot worse compared to the revolver (mostly due to it's wild inaccuracy over long distance) but at short or medium distance it's a more than decent weapon and will blow away opponents. If you think revolvers and nailguns are better, be my guest to go ahead and try beating a skilled player using the hmsmg. My money is not on you.

1) it costs almost nothing to make it, no rare parts are required
2) it's a T1 research meaning people can get it very early in the wipe

That's why it's not the best weapon in the game, it would be weird if it was any better than it is right now. T1 weapons need to feel clunky and trash

Never really said nailguns are better than regular guns but ok at medium and short range the revolver is better since it has a faster time to kill the revolver has only 86 RPM less than the smg
35 damage vs 20 damage which is the higher number?
it also costs alot more early game so it doesnt make sense to ever build one unless you really need a worse revolver with 10 extra bullets

It's not supposed to be super good, it's a t1 weapon.
1. It's super cost effective so you can make a lot early on and have an advantage
2. It becomes quite good if you put certain attachments on it which it has 4 slots the only t1 gun with 4
3. It's an automatic gun in t1, it won't be as good as a DB close range or a crossbow long range but it's going to kill faster than both of those more.often than not
4. People say it's a worse revo but it's a much better revo, worse damage but faster fire rate and can have more attachments which significantly help it, plus with the faster fire rate you will have a faster ttk with incendiary bullets

yeah it supposed to be a clunky gun but youtubers bullets have a lot velocity and really good aim with this gun...while me my bullets drops really fast and the bullets accuracy is horrible, bullets flies way too much to left and right....? why?
