Monthly reset of servers

An ideal decision, for players who play once a week.

I barely unlock the pick, find something and already reset the server.
Idiotic solution where private servers MUST reset everything every month.

People who play less often can't play because all I do is get a pickaxe and that's it, then I get a pickaxe.

one month should be long enough to research the mid tier tools. but there are servers that dont wipe bp, maybe that something you might find achievable.

Part of the game is that we all start naked with a rock on the beach at some time, you know like everyone else.

a suggestion would be to play a highly modded pvp server to get used to the game and mechanics prior to going into the vanilla servers as a new player
your choice of course but you will likely struggle as you learn to play
pve is also a choice to learn the mechanics without being shot constantly
but again it is not for everyone

in short server choice really IS everything and at the very least I would think a quick look in the modded server list for a 5x or something may well help you out
vanilla will not change any time soon
but that would allow you to play the game at least until you are up to a standard you find it all easier and do it in the most efficient way

not sure if it's a thing still but "pasteback" was a thing a couple of years ago as an admin tool and there were servers that did that too!

put your base back boxes and all after a wipe!

I strongly disagree regarding learning on easy or 2x+ servers. They need to learn the hard way about door camping. etc and resource management. Building server is must tho

i feel this far too much. its the reason i gave up on rust. i cant keep focused on a single game for a whole month. i tend to get bord after a full week, take a weeks break and come back. the forced wipes are fine for offical servers, and as a choice for private ones... but no, facepunch forces them on everyone. the times people found a way to prevent that, resulted in those ways being patched out so they are once more forced to wipe... it kills so much possibility for the game. it could have been so much better
