How bad is cheating in this game?

Looking to get back into the game, is cheating still as bad as people make it seem?

Cheaters are pretty established now as seen in all recent videos:

You may want to carry a popular Rust you tuber with you in order to get swift justice.

With that said it`s playable compared to CS2 and other cheaters infested FPS games.
I personally haven`t seen that many cheaters lately.
Don`t carry too much loot and they won`t target you.
Make your base solid (metal and armor layers) as they can see inside. Stone bases simply won`t work for more than 6 hours into wipe.

it's way less bad, many people are whining and calling cheats on anyone who kills them.

Don't get me wrong, there are cheaters but if you play a server with active admins then most cheaters get nipped in the butt pretty quickly

Every time I report someone who is 100% cheating and Hit f7 and report them I always get a report that they are banned.

On the official servers it's pretty bad, find a well moderated community server and you'll be good

yeah official servers are pretty bad i dont think the admins even cares longer too bann people who is cheating nowdats so it is bad right now.

Getting a notification does not mean they are banned immediately. You need to save their profile and check manually

exactly. no company responds to reports and says someones banned. best case, you get a responce that the report has been looked into... but you never hear if action is taken

1 in 6 Rust players is cheating but 9 out of 10 deaths you get is a cheater killing you for fast loot....Their habit is usually Hacker Vs Hacker for the weekend, or they infest small pop servers to molest so they can push cheater sales up

yes it used to be way worse but Facpunch took out the benefit of killing people in the safe zone the equipment and gear is attached to you so no one can pick it up if you die and If you Create a Vending machine at your base you can send the stuff to yourself encase people are lying in Waite for you.
the thing they still need to fix are the automatic aim and spawn point camping.
