Invisible profile pictures in chat
The profile pictures for everyone in chat are invisible, my graphics quality setting is set at 6, I've tried joining different servers and they are all still invisible, it doesn't matter if people's profiles are private or not. I've tried re-installing the game but it's still not showing the profile pictures.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like a steam issue. Try cleaning your download cache: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6AD7-820D-8BE5-E51F

In-game browser cache.

And check the friends & chat settings

Check if steamer mode is on in Rust

Thanks, I tried all of those solutions but they are still invisible. Not a huge issue, just annoying. :(

Are you using any type of vpn or custom dns?

You can try flushing your dns manually via run > cmd > ipconfig /flushdns

Other than that, verifying game files or reinstalling Steam (just make sure the cloud option is enabled in settings so it keeps your library intact).

Another thing you can look for is:
Go to:
C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/etc

Edit the file called hosts (open it in notepad)
If you find this set of text in the file:
127.0.0.1 media.steampowered.com
::1 media.steampowered.com
DELETE IT and save!

It may be your router or Windows firewall causing the issue. Try restarting the router if the avatars used to work, or add Rust as an exception in Windows firewall.
