"Just buy more RAM"
Is not a justification to load THE ENTIRE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SERVER INTO MEMORY.
Yeah.. Semi-affordable RAM should not warrant lazy programming.. Games that do a LOT more and look a LOT better take half the RAM..
And I can't even tell how it is after playing for an hour or so because I can't even make it into the world my friend is playing on because Rust crashes before..
And I played Rust in Early Access on the SAME computer ffs..
I only have 16gb of ram and get 120 fps average at 1440p with an i7 9700 and a 3070 ti
16gb ram is not the issue, im guessing you have a crappy gpu and cpu
No; Windows is explicitly nagging that the PC does not have enough RAM; Maybe it is a server issue (because of the size of the server)
Cpu: i7-4790K, GPU: GTX 980
Not great, not terrible.
Edit: As you might have guessed by my OP mentioning GTA5..
Do you have a prebuilt? Or visit shady websites? Bloatware/spyware/virus maybe?
Pc overheating?
No; I just limited the size of the virtual memory because I don't want my SSD to die prematurely; I have added 2 more SSDs to my virtual memory and Rust is running fine; But it can't be that I have to unload files from my HDD onto my SSD because Rust thinks it has to load 20-30 GB into RAM and it can't funtion otherwise... not to mention that the loading times are a nightmare.. GTA 5 is loading faster than Rust on my PC..
also only on one drive, stop messing with it and you wont have issues.
While Gta 5 takes like 5 minutes for me to load-
Two completely different games, with 2 completely different ways of pre-rendering graphics.
Ditch those SSD's, upgrade your motherboard, and buy a new m.2 drive for heavy resource games like rust.
I personally cringe every time I upgrade my PC too early; so I understand how it feels.
Used to run rust on a Pentium II processor + 8 gigs of ram.
Now that ♥♥♥♥ took f0oo0orEver.
Haven't found a legit reason to upgrade my graphics card yet though.. lol
Buying more ram isn't going to magically fix issues with gaming- That's like, similar to asking for a battery swap under warranty in an official Tesla store..
I even run 7D2D on max settings.
I repeat, It's not your ram.
Windows is literally giving me a warng that my system is running out of memory, RAM Usage is at 99% and Rust crashes with random errors during startup, yet is fine if i give it 10 GB more swap-space?
Must be my non-M.2 SSDs..
And you have Rust on your M.2 SSD and are okay with 2 minute loading times?
I can load Fallout76 and Witcher 3 from my HDD in that time. More Assets, bettter graphics, bigger world.
And I won't have issues until my SSD dies on me. I'm not willing to pay 100-200 bucks because of the lazyness of some programmers who put together a shiny minecraft.

Yeah.. I'd rather listen to professionals on this one..
