Report a translation problem
- That "blue" is called water.
- The whole island is surrounded by water. (Shocking, I know.)
You description of the map sounds like the one on rustmap.net, which only shows 1/8th of the map.
I remember my first day in this game I went the wrong way and ended up in this valley where the mountains and scenery would repeat. There were no resources either. I kept going in one direction hoping to find a road but gave up 2 hours later after finding the same mountain.

The entire map is explorable. From all the way to the north shore to all the way to the eastern edge of the map at the water. And none of it looks like it's been repeated. In fact, I was on the northern shore (above wasteland north) just last night and on the east coast 3 days ago (we've built a PvP arena out there close to the eastern edge). It's a big map and all of it can be walked on foot.
