Rust
Gamma ban?
Is it true that if you increase your gamma now you can get banned? ive heard this from a few friends and was wondering if it was true or not? because at the time it was the only way to even see at night unless you did the flare trick .

You can't be banned for adjusting your monitor brightness/gamma. You can't be banned for adjusting your brightness/gamma in your video card control panel.

This being said I wonder why don't you just play the game as it was intended to be played : Dark nights where you must rely on fire and flashlights?

Are you guys really that afraid of a fair playing field that you want to make your graphics look like crap and ruin your immersion so you can gank other players when they are blind?

the problem is that the nights are too dark or the torch light doesn't carry far enough. SO most players up the gamma to compensate.

the new patch will help but wont eliminate this type of hardware tweek to maximise the chances of survival.

You use a third party program to alter the gamma for rust and that gives you an advantage over other players. There was previous user who said he got VAC banned for using it. Night is suppose to be dark for a reason...using global computer or monitor brightness/gamma won't get you banned though.
