North America 4 Server Hacked – All players killed and crates destroyed. Server rollback, please!

So, apparently, the North America 4 server was hacked by someone who hacked into the actual server and ran a script to destroy all players, crates, and furnaces. The server now has completely empty houses and players lost EVERYTHING.

I can’t tell you how disheartening this is for players. I’m totally fine with a legit server wipe from the development team or with losing my items to players who raid my base, but a hack into the server code is just unacceptable.

Please rollback the server, Facepunch. Apparently, from what I’ve read, this has happened on other servers as well. The hacker logged on, bragged about doing it, and wiped the server of all storage crates and furnaces, and killed all players immediately.
I could deal with all the aim-botters, speed hackers, and other crap, but this is just unacceptable. I understand that it’s in alpha, but with the 20+ million made off the game, we should have better security on the server side. It seems like this game is far too susceptible to hackers.

At this point, everyone I know and play the game with has stopped playing. We were all really enjoying the game up to this point. It’s not that we still don’t like it, but what’s the point of building everything back up to have it taken away in a flash?

That is B.S. I don't see why they couldn't roll the server back 24 hours when something like this occurs. The impact that this has had on players cannot be understated. It’s not that we care that we lost items, but that they were taken away arbitrarily by a hacker. If they don’t want to roll the server back, then they should just wipe it completely. After investing nearly 200 hours into the game, only to lose it all to a hacker, I’m not too motivated to continue playing. I dealt with the speed hackers, the aim botters, etc. without ever complaining, but this just takes it to a whole different level: a hacker running a script to wipe the entire server and then openly bragging about it.

When did this happen on EU 1? It’s disturbing that this happened before and that they couldn’t figure out how to prevent it from happening again. What’s the point to playing on “official servers,” if they can’t roll them back? I thought the official servers would offer a little more “protection” for players.

Looks like you got your wish. It's happening on NA 1 as we speak. You shouldn't encourage this behavior.

Community servers are where this game is at. Find the right one and you are sure to have a better experience

Welcome to rust(seriously) the amount of hackers I have encountered is sad.

They need to up the price of the game or something, as there are to many people making steam level 1 accounts buying rust then hacking. For some reason loosing that rust key is making no difference to them, the amount of people hacking is at an all time high for video gaming.

there is more than one way of finding his other account, ahem ahem steam already has all his IP addresses even if he uses a vpn or something.
