my son who is 13 wants rust but i am wondering what the age rating is for it anybody give any information woulddbe much appreciated

Well, when you go to the store page, it asks for a age-verification, so I think the game is meant for 18+ aged players due some nudity and violence.

Is there a censored thing for the nudity cause i don't want him seeing that kind of stuff

You should be primarly concerned with the fact that your son will be exposed to adults and adult language no matter where he goes. You should make your decision in this context.

The nudity is provided by a mod and it's not included on the majority of servers. The game doesn't normally have nudity.

F1 key brings up a command-console, then you can enter a command to censor nudity:

censor.nudity true

But I think this would have to be done each time joining a server.

What Arson said. It´s not so much the game but the players. Though I would argue that the adults are not the problem here ;)

It´s like in any online-game, they´re full of horrible people that will again and again kill the player while foaming and screaming insults about his mother while laughing like a maniac.

Of course there´s also a lot of people around that are nice, well-spoken and helpful but those are not the ones you or your son will remember I guess.

Concerning nudity, every player (all male, there´s no female playermodel yet) start the game naked. There is a nudity-censor in place by default so the characters all wear pants, even when they´re naked but depending on the server, this might be turned off which means you will see people with rather unspectacular man-parts running around.


Concerning the option for censoring nudity, you can implement that in the .cfg-file, so it loads when starting the game. Not sure if nude-servers override that, one might have to re-enter it when joining.

I'll be honest and say that I'm not positive, but I know that I've never joined a server where, even wearing no gear, someone was actually nude. I have seen screenshots and videos that do have nudity, so I have assumed a mod somehow provided this.

Someone above mentioned a console command to disable nudity, but I honestly don't think it's all that common at all.

well i have made a decision because oxblood siad stuff about comments about the mother wich myself and my son lost a year ago due tostupid cancer so i will not be letting him get it

if your son plays or has played call of duty or any type of FPS/Shooters then the name calling he will already know about. if he joins a server that isn't a official server but one of the player made ones that are friendly then he or yourself will not have to worry about it, otherwise he can get that type of stuff at school then it wouldn't matter if it was from a game or not

ive seen alot of the game and i would say that rust is fine for a 13 year old and the nudity is in fact a mod
