how to turn off " sunlights" or sunshafts?

if I look at a lake while the sun is up, it's blinding, I can't see anything but a white glowing screen.

I messed around w/ that , can't find the option for it, is there a console command to turn them off somehow?

look at the water textures
other than that i cant help till im ingame and on a server

it's almost like there is a fog that the sun reflects off of, and when I happen to be looking in teh direction the sun is facing it's just overwhelming.

ok so i can suggest 2 things
A) click the box in the f2 menu labeled "sun shafts", its under efects
B) lower the water quality

P.S. make sure that you check all the tabs in the f2 menu
