Rust freezes on bootstrap warmup at launch.
Please help! I can't play it anymore!

wow this has become a common problem , you'll have to wait for him to fix it because many people are having this same issue.

I'm having the same problem. I hope they can fix it soon, I'm super stoked for Devblog 66.

I've been having the same problem, I think I found the fix.

1. In your game library right click rust and hit Properties
2. Under the BETAS tab there is a drop down menu
3. Change it from "NONE" to "Development - The latest updates - straight from . . ."
4. Close it and Launch Rust

During launch it sometimes will stop responding, but it eventually launched after a minute or so.

It worked for me, I hope it works for you, Good Luck.

yea I never was a part of beta program so thats not going to fix anything for me. It has to do with the custom shaders that Garry used instead of the default ones that come with Unity.
If anyone is having these problems persistantly, I suggest going to their reddit forum and reply and upvote this topic:

I do know that that was two years ago, but the probplem is still here for many human beings. iwas searching for any resolution and tried this one. it worked, so I'm thankful that somebody wrote that helpful information.
Why would I be stupid after that? Huh?

I'm not a hater but i figured from something 2 years ago wouldn't help. And if i was him i wouldn't have even tried to do it. Just because of the label of 2 years ago.
