Fix for rust dedicated server installation (app 258550 state is 0x1 after update job)

Hello, I was experimenting with SteamCMD last night and this morning to get it to install my rust server into my SteamCMD\steamapps\common, and i have now come up with a fix!

Tutorial:

1. Download steamCMD
2. Make a folder on your desktop named SteamCMD
3. Extract the steamcmd application to the SteamCMD folder you just made
4. Run SteamCMD
5. close SteamCMD
6. Look at the path of getting to the common folder in your SteamCMD folder, this should be: C:\Users\(Your Computer Username here)\Desktop\SteamCMD\steamapps\common (e.g. C:\Users\Jordan\Desktop\SteamCMD\steamapps\common
7. Run SteamCMD again
8. type into SteamCMD: login anonymous
9. type into SteamCMD: force_install_dir C:\Users\(computer username here)\Desktop\SteamCMD\steamapps\common\rust_server

The extra bit on the end named "rust_server" creates the folder where all the server files will be installed in the "common" directory.

10. type into SteamCMD: app_update 258550 -beta experimental validate
11. This will now install all the server files inside the rust_server directory you just created with the SteamCMD command
12. This is optional: When it has finished installing create a shortcut to your desktop or another folder, right click on the shortcut, click properties, then go to target line, and type in it (after EVERYTHING in the target line, make a space too after everything) -batchmode

Now you have your own server, just double click the application on your desktop or in the folder, and it will start in the windows CMD application

I will make another guide to make yourself owner and to make other moderators on your server!

This keeps coming up right after i follow them steps and i'm not sure what to do now.

Sorry for the late reply, but I found this to be a problem of storage space.

before you have to put in "login anonymous"

need to type at the steamcmd prompt:
login anonymous

if you are getting that error, then you are probably not logged in anonymously. You can't do the install if you are logged in to your normal user account

Quick update for folks with rust dedicated server experiencing this issue.

Most likely the reason you are getting the error is because the drive you are installing the server on is low on memory.
You should clean the drive and make space or move to another drive and these issues should not show.

Most likely case is your drive is low on space and reason for all the above errors.
