RUST is not for Solo players anymore, You HAVE TO HAVE A TEAM/CLAN OR YOU WILL LOSE

I attempted to play RUST after a very long absence from the game and I am very let down on how unbalanced the game has become for a Solo player:

- The chance of getting weapons from the Monuments that use Green/Blue cards is horrible, most of time there is nothing there since players loot out the gear or camp these areas all time and crate respawn time is so slow. The entire Keycard/fusebox system on Monuments ruins the gameplay just makes game more of a boring grind

- The decay rate on base TC for resources is so draining you cannot build any type of Medium sized base now, you must constantly farm stone/metal to be able to keep your base from rotting away and if you are doing that you have no time for anything else like exploring map/building vehicles/farming etc.

- The players who hack in this game to give themselves resources and items have already tilted the game balance so badly its pointless to try and play since they have massive compounds, dont need to worry about base decay since they spawn infinite resources and will have 100x rockets on Day 1 of server wipe whats the point of even playing?

- Unlocking BPs with scrap is a horrible grind, not only is it boring to farm out the scrap just to unlock certain gear its also taxing to just find high tier items to create a BP since most of time the Monuments are looted out and airdrops always get taken by players with AKs & full metal armour on Day 1 of a server wipe

- The size of the maps on some servers are just massive and trying to cross them on foot is just not viable anymore, you must have a horse/vehicle/helicopter or you will never be able to keep up with other players (the players that have helicopters have game breaking advantage since they use them to loot all the monuments/raid and cross the entire map before you can even have a chance of starting)

There are lots of other issues with game in its current state but as far as Solo gameplay is concerned there is just no point anymore, you cant compete or maintain a base its impossible you must find modded servers with no decay rate just to have a base now.

I play solo all the time. I don't play vanilla because vanilla require lots of dedication and I have a full time job but I found many solo/duo servers and other modded servers like tommyguns escape from rust is perfect for solo play to say solo play is obsolete is not valid. You can perfectly find servers you can solo I do it all the time and rust is my main game and I play everyday and I have never felt because I was solo I couldn't win. Solo players I found have extra drive in them to get better and I have seen solo players take on three player teams and win. It sounds like to me you're trying to talk yourself out of playing.

Just pointing out some big flaws in the games current state, I remember when this game was not so cluttered with junk mechanics and a Solo player could get some guns and gear and atleast have a chance of playing now its so unbalanced thats a complete pipedream I do not have the time to play 3 days straight with no sleep and never leaving the server thats the only way you could be able to progress and maintain a base now.

their are servers that restrict groups to solos and duos but keep the game vanilla

your over exaggerating the base upkeep a medium sized base can have a week+ of upkeep done easily in a few hours.

stay off official servers to avoid 95% of the scripters. and tbh most scripters dont have massive clan bases those are more then likely groups that know how to farm correctly. when i do play with a group we can get rockets day 1 easily and be raiding by the end of the night. it just depends on how aggressive the group is.

also most people that are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ good train on aim train servers daily, so what you think might be scripters might just be good players regardless report them and move on if they were scripting you will be notified eventually about them being banned.

the scrap bp system is the best system we got out of the 3 failures before it. it combined the old bp system with the original scrap system, it works out just fine.

helis are not game breaking they cost scrap, 750 to be precise, yes they give an advantage, yes its slightly unfair to the grounded players, regardless its a mechanic that you yourself can easily achieve and use. my suggestion is to go on a test flying server to learn how to fly them beforehand.

all in all your post just screams i jumped on official servers after years off the game and got wrecked by groups over and over and came here to vent.

official servers are not for solos and duos anymore you need a solid trio or more to be anywhere successful on officials. you my friend need to move over to community servers. you will have a much better time there.

Yeah I get it I understand. I would suggest you finding a server that is solo/duo and not a place where big zergs are all the time the servers are out there for sure. If you enjoy pvping I recommend tommyguns escape from rust which is tarkov in rust or tommyguns gragmod which is straight objective based pvp and or start playing modded or community servers that are restricted to solo duo trios maybe try a solo duo trio 2x or something I have had bases in these types of servers and still worked every day and was able to keep the base and have fun with the game.

simple fix- find people to play with or just play 2x/3x. if you dont like playing modded servers then find a community server that is lets say solo only or even solo - trio, where gunfights are balanced

While I agree that the game has turned into more clan friendly but you also have to remember that barely anyone a few years ago actually knows how to play the game.
I remember when Tower bases were 'good' but in actually it usually took 4-8 rockets probably less.
People were novices back then and now we have crazy base designs. People just figured out the formula for everything now.

My non-pvp wife has, several times started a base on official servers for us to get achievements. She has, through her mastery of grubbing decayed bases and dead bodies acquired, T3 guns, armor and mass components. Yeah if you wanna wipe day solo on a 500 pop server you're probably gonna have a bad time.(bp wipe is your best chance) Watch willjum if you need help playing as a solo, you won't have his game sense but it's a start.

Christ, you just threw any credibility straight out the window on that one....Here I was about to point out your lack of knowledge on how the game works and is played, "due to the silly statement of hackers spawning in resources and the whole upkeep bit" but honestly , I hate to be this guy but I think its best you move on to something else. No experienced solo wants to build even a medium size base anyway, its a waste of time and resources. The number 1 way around that as a solo is to build multiple smaller base designs with enough protection to make it at least look like a raid that's not worth....also, NEVER use code locks....I swear key locks have kept me safe for years now. You have to learn how to pick and choose your battles as a solo and solo running large monuments aint it pal..... The successful solos are the ones that take inspiration from natures own predators. You pick the weakest member of the pack, stalk your prey and then feast quickly so you don't walk away with an empty stomach. To become a well rounded player at rust takes time....far too much time honestly. Just keep at it and learn from your mistakes. Quit making up excuses and pointing fingers at silly reasoning. People have been crying about rust not being for solo players since its inception..... That will NEVER change unless you take the time to find a modded server or server that has group restrictions....or hell, make a damn friend or two and get to playing!

no that isnt true, it wasnt in that in legacy, they tried too do balance but change it later.
