Can't Paint

Pretty simple. I've tried with all the different signs/canvases. I can open up the color/brush menu but I can't actually paint anything. I've tried left clicking, right clicking, spacebar, etc. etc. It's not server side, my friend was able to paint over the signs I had put up./ What gives? Am I missing something critical?

Sometimes i have this problem too, sometimes i can do it as everyone else.
Try this (It worked at me):
Open the painting->Paint sign
Then you can't draw as u say.
Alt+Tab to another page.
Then Alt+Tab back to game! After this i was able to draw!
Then save, and if your game is bugging now: you can move, but u see your cursor, and can't spin, open inventory, move smth(not sure if need, just open it), then close inv. and everything will be ok!

i get the same issue sometimes, usually logging on and off fixes it.

Holy cow this bug is still around? I remember the drawing problem still being a thing two years ago too. Bummer. At least there are workarounds thankfully.

For me holding down shift while drawing worked for wooden sign, but for drawing on hanging sign I had to hold alt.
