I've set decay.upkeep false on my server, but TC still shows base decay
I'm new to Rust and to hosting a Rust server, but have lots of experience hosting other game servers. I found this setting that supposedly disables decay, but when I look at the TC in my base, it shows the message "Your base is not protected and is decaying." In the right hand corner, I also see the "Building Decaying" message. Another odd thing is that after roaming for a couple of hours, I came back to my base (a simple 1x2) and my walls/foundations are still at 100% health even though there are no resources in TC. This setting has been in the batch file to start the server since the beginning but doesn't appear to be working. Or maybe it is?

Is there something else I need to do to prevent base decay? Did I configured it incorrectly? Or is this just the expected behavior with this setting? It seems like there isn't a ton of info out there on this specific setting, and in the cases where people are asking questions about it, the answers are kind of vague.

Setting was found here: https://www.gtxgaming.co.uk/clientarea/knowledgebase/748/How-to-adjust-decay-on-your-Rust-Server.html

TIA!

Did you try decay.scale "0" in server.cfg ? Or decay.upkeep false

It only removes the damage done by decay but won`t get rid of the message which is client sided.
About removing the message check oxide forums[umod.org]

If the commands don`t work you can use this plugin[umod.org].

I haven't tried decay.scale "0" but am currently using decay upkeep false. It appears that isn't enough since part of my base decayed in the last couple hours. I don't mind the message being there as long as decay is truly disabled. Or at very least if I can make it as unimportant as possible that would be great.

The server is just for me, and possibly some friends to mess around in, but we aren't on enough to gather resources for base upkeep. If we're on, we'd rather be adventuring instead of grinding resources.

If I can't turn off decay, I may just use a script to turn the server on and off during our "peak" times so that it's not such an issue.

I'll give decay scale a try and report back.
