Dunno how to tell you dis but I got the same problem until I got more ram, Rust doesn't use much of your gpu sadly unless you force it to by making your graphics higher or your resolution if I remember correctly but yeah upgrading your ram might be the only long term fix. And there are some great specials on ram out there sooo goodluck.

bro theres people running the game ON 2 GB RAM ive heard "upgrade your ram" multiple times before that so if you run up to me with "upgrade ram" please dont, okay, ive already heard that from the support team so i need alternative ways that do not require upgrading

Thats illogical way of thinkin. You cant just by-pass certain requirement making it possible to play this game as intended.

Anyway, people can claim anything, does not mean you should believe them.

The requirements would been MUCH lower if they did proper optimization, at least like cs2 did, at launch it didn't perform well and crashed frequently, now it almost doesn't at all, rust on the other hand crashes all the time, disconnected from server - crash, changed a single setting in game - crash, died - crash and I've seen multiple people before like many years ago complaining about it, just from random news sources, I didn't even knew what rust was back then, but now I know it is an awfully optimized game, and yet they still complain, because what? The developers make no proper optimization, and still do not, if they ever get mailed for help, they only back away with "uhh well update or reinstall your drivers and upgrade your pc, dumbass". hell I'm sure of it my pc would run it just fine on ultra graphics on a blank flat map with a couple of trees and water, I am so regretting my money spent on it rn, couldve saved for dayz or tarkov instead of this terrible excuse of a game that i wasted "playing" apparently how steam says to me in my refund request, when i literally got tortured just trying to launch the game like 10+ hours. And thats why noone wants to not to spend extra money on hardware just for this single game neither, so that's why everyone is trying to bypass it. And yet, they keep telling us: "Well we'll fix and improve perfomance maybe next time frick off" and yet they never do and never did so, the game almost stayed the same perfomance since launch.

I do understand you and agree with it but to make claims like some can properly run this (optimized or not) with 2-4gb ram is ridicilous.

ive saw multiple people on youtube playing the game on lowest graphics just fine on 2-4 gb ram, they even showed their task manager pc stats in full screen having the game running on background confirming it clearly showed 2 or 4 gb
yet my pc clearly better than theirs, on the same graphics levels, cannot even boot the game properly, it did boot but it still performed awfully.
they read a comment "how is your game so smooth on 2gb ram show proof its 2 gb ram" "alright look, im opening my task manager, look 2 gb ram, rust running completely fine"
It is really absolutely ridicilous how perfomance heavy this game is, heck ive tried to boot cyberpunk on high graphics on my pc it ran pretty well, about 40-50 fps (but my pc sounded like a jet engine)
similiar thing in rust, high graphics the game doesnt even load in and just crashes, when i boot it on low settings successfully my pc doesnt turn into a jet engine, which is bad, because if it does turn into one, that means the game MUST run good.
ive even compared the game graphics from youtubers that have god tier computers, the game doesnt even look like its THAT perfomance heavy, maximum it looks like a bare bones source 2 game, not even close to a game that eats your entire ram.

Ajiliffe...funny you mention RAM, the other day while loading my game i started task manager to see how much ram it uses...i wasn't even in the game and it alreday used 20 GIGS...i don't know how much ram was left/use while in game...

8gigs...just for everyday use of a computer you should have more
+7 year old GPU +5 years old cpu...you're stretching it a little thin...

By the way i just checked Rust MINIMUM Ram requirement is 10 GIGS

This, its not just about how much ram some game uses (or ideally should use) but how much is required for the OP system to run efficiently + having certain programs+ Rust running on it at the same time. You cant just make it happen with so low amount of ram.
Secondly, any decent ddr4 or ddr5 runs at least 3200mhz+ and has 2x4gb stick at minimum. No wonder the game runs like ♥♥♥♥ with slow ram with 8gigs.
