Rust
Weird sound while wearing headphones. NEED HELP
You see, I usually play solo and on speakers BUT when I use headset, the audio is super weird... if someone is on the right of me, I can hear him only in my right headphone, same goes for heli, car, gun fire and so on... The sound just blasts into one ear and makes me disoriented... In other games, spatial sound is pretty normal, from right it slightly bleeds into left headphone and is still clear where the sound is coming from and I never had such an issue in any game except RUST.

I dont want to play on mono audio cuz then I wont be able to know what is where... So is there a way to make the sound normal like in other games?

Try changing your sound settings in the Options in Rust. Theres a section with a pull down bar that lets you change your Rust Audio to like 7.1, 5.1, surround sound, headphones, etc. Try each of those until one works. I believe there is one specifically for headphones that makes the sound fit better for that.

Sounds like youre just in the wrong sound mode.

Tried that, it does not have "headphones" option there though... So far I tried all options except mono cuz mono is just bad and the rest... well it sounds the same on each and one of them... I dont have spatial sound enabled on windows cuz if I enable that, same thing happens to me in Far Cry 6 where I can hear stuff in one ear if its slightly to the side so for example radio in a car and engine is ALWAYS blasting into my right ear at all times... When I disable it, I can still hear it on the right but some of it bleeds to the left headphone aswell so it sounds more natural with the sound bouncing around to give me accurate information... Unfortunately for me Rust seems to have spatial sound permanently turned ON so no matter which settings I use, it is bad... And I dont want to play on mono cuz that is just horrible to hear everything from single direction and have 0 awareness... I think at this point I rather stay on speakers and no mic than going deaf on one ear cuz someone shot a gun on my right or left and blew my eardrums off xD

Yeah, the best solution would be get new headphones but I know that costs money. Rust has made me spend a lot of money on better equipment from mousepad, to mouse/keyboard, monitor, larger desk, better headphones, better mic. LOL.

Get new headphones? xD U joking right... I should throw away my 120 USD headset and buy something else just cuz Rust has F'ed up audio? I mean, if no solution to fix it, speakers it is...

Rust made me spend no money... There is no need to spend any money TBH... I spend money on my PC cuz I want to spend money on my PC... But for sure I aint gonna buy some headphones for 1000 bucks just so Rust would sound like any other videogame... Note that Rust aint nothing to get stressed about... Its not like you run ESL Rust and whatnot, there is nothing professional about being toxic, raid poor people that spent hours building their base and whatnot... What made me buy a better mic was myself cuz I wanted people to hear me better on Discord and that was ages ago and since then I always have mid to high tier PC and equipment for gaming... No need to buy overpriced professional grade headset just so the game MAYBE started to have a normally sounding audio...
