Banned without having the game installed in the past 4 months?

Yo, so I havent played Rust in a good while because I am more interested in other games rn and I got notified of a ban yesterday. My steam also says last played yesterday...but the game isnt and wasnt even installed? I never cheater obviously and I dont really understand what happened. My steam wasn't hacked either.

I am really confused, especially because it says 'last played today' when i received the ban..but I was outside and then when i got home i simply streamed a little bit of brawlhalla.

What the actual f*ck happened? Anyone has ANY idea?
Support just gives me a prewritten bot copy pasted message and ignores my problem.
Dont get me wrong, i dont really care if the rust dev treats someone who gave them money like ♥♥♥♥, but now i have a ban on my steam profile..for a game I didnt even play!

I am so utterly confused. Because if i was hacked..how did he bypass the Steam Guard/2FA without me getting notified..why didnt he change my pw..why didnt he buy stuff? I have 180 games and paypal connected. But dude only played rust with cheats just to get banned instantly? This is sooo weird man

Only answer youll get is that you cheated and thats it. Bans are never removed from profile either. Nobody here can help you.

I am not trying to get unbanned here, I know ya all cant do anything about it. I just wanted to try to get some theories of what happened so I atleast understand what happened.

I downloaded a virus by accident a few days ago, but got rid of it. My browser steam language was chinese a few days ago but according to my research that can be a bug.

my recent login history doesnt show anything else than me tho.
the game wasnt installed
but apparently someone played rust with my accoount, atleast acording to the ban and the last played information


Does here anyone have ANY idea how all of that is possible? xd

And as far as I am aware with my reserach multiple people have gotten an EAC Ban lately without playing/cheating. Maybe some weird new bugged ban wave?

Instead of postion on community forums, you must contact Steam or anty-cheat support about it. Especially when you have paypal connected.

Longer you wait = more chance that you will be dissmissed as "just another cheater".

do you really think we are stupid bro? so you weren't hacked, don't have the game installed, but you played yesterday and got a ban for it? that doesn't add up at all. so either you did it (probably) or you got hacked (not likely)

Its literally impossible for me to play rust yesterday. Besides that iman ex cs/val pro and played like 3k hours in dayz, why would I cheat lmao

The question is if there are theories about what possibly happened because nothing makes sense. I wasnt hacked according to steam and I wasnt playing, prooven by me being live on twitch playing a different game. Sooo.. What happened? Where are all the conspiracy theorists? I need your creativity

ye i will open a ticket with EAC tomorrow and hopefully find out what happened. I heard people can bypass 2FA but im not a pc knower..so i dont know if its actually possible. i did change my email password and my steam password, but it just all doesnt make sense

Already said 2 times, that I was out for doctors appointments and then streaming.
The game isnt installed + I have proof that I didnt boot up the game that day.

Whats with you smartasses trynna find a way to call everyone a cheater that has been banned? How even a fake account? U think imma buy the game a second time just to cheat with a github cheat on it? If I was gonna cheat I would most likely just pay 600 bucks for a private one and never get banned in the first half. But no I didnt. So I am part of your 0.1% :D

I just saw that I got a reply from steam support.
It actually was a chinese guy that hacked me.
4 logins between 12am and 1:30pm.

How tf did that guy get around 2FA/Steam Guard???!
