Quick question: Tool cupboard
Does the tool cupboard still need to be on the first floor, or can we move them up and still protect the base?

you can always move it up just remember to destroy the old one first. also depending on your build you may need to place a second one on the ground or on the fourth floor depending. cupboards have a sphere shaped protection.

I just learned about this, I saw a base with no cupboards on the first floor but it was still protected by a tool cupboard somehow. For the longest time, it only worked if you had one on the first floor. I'm just trying to clear up that what I'm seeing isn't an exploit or something.

basically every floor you place a cupboard will cover the one above and below it to an extent, it depends on how high your building is and how wide you make it. depending on the build you may need alot of external false cupboards but make sure always your first isnt on the first floor.

You're not answering my question, or your ideas are too cryptic for me to decipher.

you can also leave one foundation floor wooden and have a cupboard under it but make sure you disguise the foundation with shelves and false wooden boxes to cover up the fact its wooden

not trying to be cryptic at all. its simple they cover a spherical space.. you can have one on the first and third floor. or one on the second and fourth

Hopefully someone can answer my question more concisely.

to be concise yes you can build them above the first floor and be protected.

Okay, thanks.

I only tried to explain how they worked along with giving that answer. im sorry if i confused you

Yeah, it confused me. I thought you were trying to explain the details to a complicated exploit. An easy way to answer would have been: You can build them above the first floor, and they will protect the floors beneath them also.

May I also ask, was this change implemented recently?

Just tested it, not working the way you described. Hopefully someone can give me the non-trolling response, or help me understand what I'm getting wrong.

What? If I have an armored foundation that's slightly above the ground you can destroy with a hammer? More detail please lol.
