EAC Error Code 23 on startup
Hello Community,

when I want to start my rust I always get a EAC Error (Code 23) and I don't know why.

I wanted to play with a friend yesterday. I started the game and it worked just fine. The only problem was that I couldn't join a server, because my "game.dll" didn't matched with the servers version of it. So I closed the game and checked the integrity of the rust files in steam. steam said that everything is fine. Since then I can't even start Rust.

I already tried to reinstall EAC for Rust

Can someone help me?

Did Rust update your side (client side)? Also go back in the /common folder in steam. right click and choose properties -> click compatibility tab -> set as run as administrator. Make sure you run EAC as admin as well.

I just remind me that I had a simliar problem a long time ago. I had to edit my registry to get rust working. I tried my old "rustfix.reg" file and could tweak my error code from 23 to 31. It looks like this could fix it. I just need the right values.

Could you give me your values from the registry?
Path: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EasyAntiCheat]

There should be:
"GamesInstalled" (it should contain a 12, that's rust)
"ServiceVersion" (This is the version of EAC, my value is "dword:00000004" but that's not the right version)
