Rust
Walls, Doors, and Tool Cabinets-- Strategy Questions
Some questions.

Let's say I have a house that requires raiders to either go through two layers of stone walls or two layers of armored doors-- which is easier to do? Are my doors or walls more vulnerable generally speaking?

What about the same question-- two layers of stone walls, but this time two layers of sheet metal doors--- which is easier to do?

Tool cabinet question: Recently I stole someone's house in a game just by breaking down their wood door and authorizing myself using their tool cabinet (I had no idea that was possible). I'm trying to think about how to protect myself from the same thing. What if I build a tool cabinet and surround it with stone walls with no door. That would mean that I would not have access to it. Can I still use it to build? I am also guessing that a raider would not spend the time knocking down all my walls to get at it if they can get to my sleeping bag and storage chests in my main living area. That would prevent them from stealing the house, though, if they cannot either destroy the tool chest or authorize themselves on it, I would think.

Does any of that sound like a good idea, bad idea, or does the game not work like I think it does?

I'm guessing you're fairly new to the game since these concepts are deemed ESSENTIAL to basic survival in Rust, but you've got the right idea since you came to the same conclusions!
Tool cupboards need only be exposed if you're going to need another player to eventually access it at a later time (I.e another teammate, so they can build/repair) or to remove yourself from privelege (I.e when an attack Helicopter has aggroed on you). Hiding the TC is an art form of its own on Rust, requiring you cover as much of your base as possible while not making it's location obvious to raiders (I.e putting it dead center is strategic for coverage, but easy to guess where it might be)

Sheet metal is fairly inexpensive once you get to that production tier, and it will trump stone both in total HP AND damage type resistance.

Thanks-- I am very new. I just started playing on a very unpopulated server to see if I can get past the early game. At some point I'll look up some building layouts created by experts, but I think I'll have more fun seeing what I can come up myself for now.
