Dying Offline
Hi all, i have just setup my server for myself and a couple of friends to play together. My issue is we are all dying when offline. I may be wrong but my understanding is that you only die while offline if killed by another player but that is not the case here. We played for a few hours last night and made a small base and then everyone logged off, nobody has been online since and yet this morning all of us are dead and had to respawn. Is this a server setting i need to change and if so anyone know the command to do it?

"i have just setup my server" Thats your problem, you dont know what you are doing and probably installed some bad mods thats killing yall. Make a base and and log off in it. If you come back dead, you know its not animals.... then its prob something to do with a mod effecting your hunger while offline or the simple reason, you are lying and looking for attention.... or your one friend is trolling.

Is your base still there when you respawned?

Not sure why you'd think i'm trolling and what a cynical way to look at things. I am not familiar with rust or even server hosting in general. I just play with 3 or friends and we like our own private games if they can be done. I just went online and found instructions to host a server using AMP server manager and set it up. No mods except the whitelist from umod to prevent unwanted players joining. This is only the 3rd game i've ever hosted a server for with the other two being Ark Survival Evolved and Satisfactory.

There is myself and two friends playing on this particular server, all three of us were dead when we logged back in.

We were all presented with the spawn screen and that was all. We made it back to the base which was partially decayed.

I have found a command (decay,scale 0) to turn decay off so have applied that and rebuilt the base before logging off last night and after logging in again just now i have survived the night again so i'm guessing the decay of the base is what killed us the first time but as i said i am fairly new to Rust in general.

If that's the case then you all were simply killed by animals when the base decayed.

I have the same problem. Maybe someone helpful will come along. If I find the answer before that happens I'll let you know. I have Oxide installed as well, no mods *yet" and have it set to Softcore. The decay is insane -- I am using stone. Still learning of course but for now I have built several chests and even hidden backpacks to save the best stuff.
Sleeping bags show up on map but I don't see them. Interesting game. I could get hooked but the start is frustrating to say the least.

Maybe it was the decay ...

Edit: Using a third-party server.

Not really mate Im playing on a sever with friends they die on respawn every time they log in
