Rust

EAC won't let me play the game due to VM Use.
Hello.
I use a Windows 10 KVM w/ GPU passthrough for gaming on games that do not have a Linux build to make sure that Proton does not cause any errors (I have experienced some issues in the past with Proton). This game is one of them. I tried launching Rust today for the first time in months, just to see a "Cannot run under Virtual Machine." pop-up. I have looked in forums and some of them claim that bypassing this is considered anti-cheat circumvention. Which I do not want to do. I do not want to dualboot either, since I prefer running Linux over Windows, and I'd rather keep my back-up hard drive for back-ups.
Is it possible to run Rust w/ EAC without any risks of a ban?
Thanks in advance.

Well, they obviously need to use HWID, and that's why it's an anti-cheat measure, with the only exceptions being a couple of gaming clouds. It can certainly be circumvented, and there are numerous other forums where you can seek assistance for that or directly reach out to Facepunch and EAC regarding your second question.

To be honest, I'm a bit skeptical of your intentions because if you were genuinely invested in Linux, you wouldn't need help with this at all.

That's understandable.

I've been using Linux for only a month. Pretty new to all this stuff.

For example, they had my old, nice and cheap X7 mouse blocked. Even though I never touched the original macros software, let alone used the 'Bloody' script, I'm now playing with a crappy $200 mouse that I intend to throw at the wall soon. I could easily bypass it with multiple methods, but it's their game, their rules.
